AUSTRALIA. Travel dining specialist SSP Group has unveiled The Rocks, a new dining precinct in Sydney Airport Terminal 2, bringing together popular Australian restaurant brands including MoVida, ST. ALi and The Taphouse ahead of its scheduled July debut.
The venue has been developed as a design-driven dining and drinks destination, offering travellers a relaxed social space within the high-traffic airport setting.

Sydney Airport Group Executive, Commercial Mark Zaouk said, “The Rocks precinct represents a step change in how we think about airport dining by bringing together a strong mix of contemporary food and drinks brands in a space that is open, welcoming and designed for connection.
“The space sits at around 680sq m, so it will offer plenty of room for passengers to settle in, whether they’re stopping for a quick coffee at ST. ALi, easing into a long lunch at MoVida or grabbing a pre-flight drink at the Taphouse – there’s something to suit everyone.”

Among the standout dining offerings at the precinct is MoVida, marking acclaimed Chef Frank Camorra’s return to Sydney Airport T2. His original venue served travellers in the terminal for more than a decade.
The latest concept will showcase innovative takes on its well-known Spanish tapas menu, alongside a bar and dining setting featuring signature, location-exclusive dishes.

Camorra said: “We’re excited to be returning to Sydney Airport, where MoVida had such a strong presence for many years.
“This new space gives us the opportunity to reimagine what we do in an airport setting, bringing the energy, generosity and bold flavours of Spanish tapas to travellers in a way that feels both familiar and new.”

Recognised as a key player in Melbourne’s coffee scene for 21 years, ST. ALi is set to introduce its signature brews to travellers passing through the terminal.
Completing the precinct is The Taphouse, featuring a relaxed pub-style concept built around a central island bar, where travellers can enjoy casual dining, drinks and a pre-flight social atmosphere.

Capturing the character and appeal of The Rocks, the new precinct reflects Sydney’s famed harbourside neighbourhood through heritage design references combined with a bright, contemporary setting.
The venue features high ceilings, warm textures and an open-plan layout, blending communal-style tables with more intimate seating areas to create a relaxed social atmosphere
Open throughout the day, the concept adapts to the airport’s fast-paced environment, catering to passengers with grab-and-go choices alongside more relaxed, sit-down dining experiences.

A highlight of the dining experience is the communal dining, which brings an energetic and social atmosphere to the precinct, complemented by flexible seating arrangements that accommodate both groups and individual travellers.
An SSP spokesperson said, “We’re proud to be bringing together three outstanding and much-loved brands MoVida, ST. ALi and The Taphouse into one cohesive precinct at Sydney Airport.
“Each brand offers something unique, and together they create a dynamic, high-quality dining experience that reflects the diversity and strength of Australia’s food culture.”
