Swarovski recreates the Arctic through its latest Autumn/Winter 2005 collection |
AUSTRIA. Like its most recent jewellery collection, Swarovski’s Home Décor Collection for Autumn/Winter 2005/2006 takes inspiration from the Arctic world.
“In Mood for Ice”, conceived by art director Darko Mladenovic, is built around two elements: ice and crystal.
To recreate the Arctic mood, Swarovski creates white matt porcelain vases and bowls in round, curved shapes, reminiscent of the snowy landscapes. Large crystal stones set in metal enhance each item.
Also featured in the collection are a candle holder and hanging decorations.
The collection comprises:
Iluliac: A clear crystal stone with many facets, resembling an iceberg, designed by Mario Dilitz. Measures 24.4 x 16.5 x 13cm.
Nanuc: A crystal polar bear designed by Heinz Tabertshofer. 12.2 x 16.3 x 7cm.
Milik small vase: A large, slender vase in matt porcelain featuring crystal stones in blue, grey and white. Designed by Martin Zendron. 12.7 x 26cm.
Milik large vase: Another Martin Zendron design featuring blue, grey and white crystals on matt porcelain surface.
Milik bowl: Martin Zendron personifies the snowy winter landscape in a delicate porcelain adorned with crystal stones in blue, grey and white. 15.9 x 11.7cm.
Smilla mobile: Eva Maria Ried recreates ice flowers and droplets hanging of the branches through this mobile made of metal and white and blue crystals. 18 x 34 x 3cm.
Smilla ornament: Eva Maria Ried interprets winter in a window ornament made of white and blue crystal flowers hanging from a metal branch. 19 x 9.5 x 3m.
Nilac: Mladenovic has created a candle holder made of porcelain and decorated with crystal and aurore boreale coloured stones. 13.5 x 7 x 7cm.
