INTERNATIONAL. Swedish Match, which produces and distributes La Paz cigars, has introduced a new line called La Paz Medios into travel retail.
“As a consequence of the multiplication of smoking bans, cigar lovers have fewer and shorter moments to enjoy their favourite product,” said the company. “La Paz is launching a new Wilde product that takes advantage of this trend.”
La Paz Medios (which means Medium in Spanish) offers a tasteful smoke for about 10 to 12 minutes. Its secret is based on the diameter of Wilde Cigarros, yet in a shorter size, according to the company.
Medios full-bodied, 100% tobacco cigars are horizontally packed in a vertical tin of 10, easily fitting in pockets. The small window on the top right corner has a double function: first, it clearly shows how the cigars are positioned in the tin; and second, it recalls the nature of Wilde cigars, i.e. the unfinished Wilde end.
The retail price falls in between Wilde Cigarros and Wilde Cigarillos. The first introductions have already taken place in Europe, and other La Paz markets will start soon.
