CHINA (MACAU). Swiss prestige skincare house La Prairie celebrated its Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil innovation with a special VIP event during Golden Week (1-7 October) in Macau. The Cobalt Night experience took place in the Grand Hyatt Macau and took 300 guests on a multi-sensorial journey into The Cobalt Night universe, showcasing La Prairie’s collaboration with French digital artist Maotik.
Cobalt blue, a colour which carries significant resonance for La Prairie, was the main theme of the event. At the VIP event, La Prairie showcased ‘Sense of Blue’, a multi-sensorial art installation created by French digital artist Maotik which brings cobalt blue to life through light, space and sound.

Sense of Blue was debuted at the 2021 edition of art fair Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland. The immersive installation gradually immerses audiences into darkness using motion sensors, video projections and hidden digital algorithms. The installation marries a mysterious minimal aesthetic with technical sophistication that enables viewers to use movement to shape their environment through shifting light facets.
The event also featured a sensorial product experience and product discovery zone, where guests could experience the Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil first-hand while listening to music played by a live DJ, sipping cobalt blue-themed cocktails and enjoying caviar canapés, a playful homage La Prairie’s signature ingredient.

Maotik, born Mathieu Le Sourd, is a leading figure in the world of digital art and a specialist in crafting interactive environments. His science-meets-art approach resonates strongly with La Prairie’s core ethos, with Sense of Blue putting the night and the ‘elusive power of caviar’ centre stage.
The Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil, infused with Caviar Retinol, was designed to maximise the skin’s natural circadian rhythms. The liquid counteracts the ageing effects of prolonged night-time water loss by creating a temporary oil barrier that retains skin moisture.
In addition, the high-powered formula reduces fine lines and wrinkles, visibly smooths the skin’s surface and restores firmness by re-densifying the skin.

It has also been infused with La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex, which marks the very first time that the complex has been incorporated into an oil-based product.
The complex was inspired by La Prairie Founder Dr. Paul Niehan’s pioneering work on skin rejuvenation at Clinique La Prairie. It has been proven to visibly refresh the complexion by giving new life and energy back to the skin.
