English spirits company The Lakes Distillery has unveiled a duty free exclusive product range. The Lakes Distillery, located in England’s scenic Lake District, was opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Anne in July 2015.
The lead item in the new collection is a repackaged one-litre version of British blended whisky The One. The company called it the world’s only British whisky in that it features blends from English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish whiskies.

The One range also features three limited-edition variants: The One Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish, The One Tawny Port Cask Finish and The One Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Finish.

The Lakes Gin and The Lakes Vodka have also been repackaged for travel retail and duty free.
An “eclectic” mix of 15 botanicals features in The Lakes Gin. These include Cumbrian juniper, one of the county’s oldest plant species, and six others which are native to the Lake District National Park. A super-premium version, The Lakes Gin Explorer Edition, offers a more intense flavour and is crafted with a different distillation profile.

The Lakes Vodka is made using English wheat spirit and Cumbrian water sourced from the River Derwent.
Industry veteran Neil Johnson, who is handling the brand in duty free and travel retail, said the company had already held meetings with travel retailers and was hopeful of listings. Johnson held senior positions with Nuance Australia from 1990 to 2014 and later worked for Brisbane Airport Corporation as Retail Asset Manager.
