The Nuance Group Turkey to tread ancient Lycian Way for Educathlon

TURKEY The Nuance Group Turkey is among the latest companies to sign up for The Great Travel Retail Educathlon, which will raise funds for five educational causes across the world later this month on 28-30 June.

The retailer has entered four groups, each made up of 12 participants from different departments of the organisation. They will be completing the required 7km by walking the Lycian Way, an ancient long-distance footpath in Turkey, on 29 June.

The Nuance Turkey team said: “The Lycian Way is a place of natural beauty; green rolling hills are met with the blue of the Turkish sea. The beautiful scenery and historical significance of Lycian Way will mean a unique and meaningful walk for the participants.”

After completing the walk, the four groups – the Lykian Orchids, Chimera’s Fire, Olympos and Mediterranean Seals – intend to meet in Ulupinar village where they will celebrate together.

The fundraising site for The Nuance Group is now up and running. Visit www.charitygiving.co.uk/burakfarukzer to donate.

Charities to benefit from the Educathlon are:

SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES, Brazil, nominated by Dufry;
ALIA PRIMARY SCHOOL, Bahrain, nominated by Aer Rianta International-Middle East;
LOTUS FLOWER TRUST, India, nominated by World Duty Free Group and Women in Travel;
LYCÉE JEAN BAPTISTE POINT DU SABLE, Haiti, nominated by DFS Group;
KARATAS VILLAGE SCHOOL, Turkey, nominated by The Nuance Group.

The Educathlon is the 2013 follow-up to the hugely successful Moodie Multi-National Marathons of the past two years, and will raise funds for children’s education worldwide.

As with previous Moodie Multi-National Marathons, participants from the travel retail industry must complete 7k on any of the chosen days in any location in the world. But in a new twist, they can complete the distance by any means at all – including walking, running, cycling, swimming, flying, ballooning, rowing, surfing, triathloning – the more creative the better.
