SOUTH KOREA. The Shilla Duty Free has integrated its online and offline membership schemes into a single service through a complete overhaul of its membership system.
The retailer said the revamped scheme will strengthen customer convenience and benefits through increasing membership grade-specific discount rates and expanding the affiliate range.
Activated on 7 March, each member will now be automatically designated a membership grade corresponding to their value of total purchases on the day after purchase without distinction between online and offline.
They will be immediately eligible for benefits after grade assignment (the top Black and Black Prestige grades will be assigned separately once a year).

The Shilla Duty Free has also announced that the assessment period for all grades other than the Black and Black Prestige levels will change from three years to two years, and the assessment criteria for each grade will also be lowered.
Gold Plus and Diamond grades have been newly-established, and benefits such as purchase amount-based preferential basic S Rewards accumulation rates have been added.
Also through the new system, customers can now enjoy a wide range of benefits linked to various partners through The Shilla Duty Free membership. Members are now eligible for discounts and membership upgrades at Expedia, Myrealtrip, SSF SHOP, Yellow Balloon, Kakao T Venti and Yogiyo.
A Shilla Duty Free offical said: “In addition to reorganising our membership system, we will continue to expand our services so that we can provide differentiated shopping experiences across a variety of fields.”
