Arabian Wood, one of the Tom Ford Private Blend Collection fragrances now available at Dubai Duty Free |
UAE. Dubai Duty Free (DDF) has been selected as the first airport retail operation in the Middle East – and only the second in the world – to carry the exclusive Tom Ford Private Blend Collection. The launch follows on from the successful introduction of Tom Ford Black Orchid at DDF in February 2008.
The collection of 13 signature, unisex fragrances will be available from this month in Dubai International Airport Terminal 3.
Commenting on the success of Tom Ford Beauty since its DDF introduction, Managing Director Colm McLoughlin said: “We have seen an increasing demand from our customers for Tom Ford fragrances, and in the past year alone sales across the Tom Ford fragrances have shown consistent double-digit growth.
“We are delighted to have the first Middle East duty free introduction of the Tom Ford Private Blend Collection, and I am sure that our customers will appreciate its exclusivity.”
Each Private Blend fragrance begins with an extraction of a single note around which secondary notes are wrapped, creating a “completely developed and complex scent” designed to enchant or challenge, stimulate or delight.
According to the brand, Tom Ford Private Blend allows the wearer, whether male or female, to discover the fragrances that suit their personality and moods, and become the curator of their own personalised fragrance collection.

“Private Blend is my own scent laboratory; it is where I have the ability to create very special, original fragrances that are unconstrained by the conventions of mainstream scent-making,” noted Ford. “Private Blend is designed with the true fragrance connoisseur in mind.”
The selection at Dubai will include the White Musk Collection, the newest addition to the Private Blend line. These are four new scents which are said to offer a new take on the iconic ingredient of musk.
Other Tom Ford Private Blend fragrances available in Dubai include Tuscan Leather, Neroli Portofino, Noir de Noir, Champaca Absolute, Oud Wood, Tobacco Vanille, Arabian Wood and Italian Cypress. The scents are available in 50ml and 250ml decanters.
Tom Ford Private Blend Arabian Wood was originally custom-blended for a well-known Arabian sheik. A woody chypre, it was reportedly inspired by the “extraordinary confluence of the Middle East’s past and present aromatic wonders”.
The juice combines precious woods, opulent green notes, rich florals and exotic spices. “Arabian Woods is the perfect marriage of rich materials and a hi-tech approach,” noted Ford.
The fragrance will be offered in the original Private Blend packaging inspired by the dark brown glass colouring of the apothecary bottles used in perfume laboratories.
