Soft toy specialist Aurora is introducing the new Eco Nation Collection in October as part of the company’s Eco strategy.
The nine styles include Penguin, Seal, Turtle, Panda, Giraffe, Elephant, Fox, Wolf, and Squirrel. Sizing is 24/30cm with a retail price of €14.95 (US$17.80). More styles will be added next year.

Many elements of this new concept are recycled from PET bottles, including the plush fabric and inner stuffing. The tags are also made from recycled materials (interesting fact – it takes 8 x 500 ml PET bottles to manufacture one plush toy).

Each toy has a large swing tag to clearly communicate the product’s eco credentials. Additionally, a bespoke Eco display is available, naturally made from 100% recycled materials.
Aurora World Travel Retail Manager Garry Stoner said: “Our production technology using recycled materials has progressed substantially. The new Eco Nation collection feels super soft to touch and each character certainly has the ‘R’ factor. As climate-change tension continues to rise, it is imperative that we do our bit to help the planet, and over the course of 12 months we will use over 400 million bottles in our production processes.”
By the end of 2020, all Aurora World’s products will be produced using fibre fill made from recycled plastics; cloth labels made from recycled materials; plastic pellets made from recycled plastics; as well as using recyclable hang tags and shipping materials.
By going green, Aurora, founded in South Korea in the 1980s, is saving over 3 million pounds of recycled plastics. It is also cutting down paper usage by over -30% annually and reducing the company’s carbon footprint in an effort to make a greener world.
