Travel Retail Solutions stays on target with new Star Wars products

Travel Retail Solutions (TRS) is adding further Star Wars-themed products to its travel retail portfolio, following the ‘phenomenal’ success of the Lightsaber Toothbrush range last year.

According to TRS, sales of the Star Wars Lightsaber Toothbrush range topped 150,000 in 2016. The company said new character designs and travel retail-exclusive sets are in the pipeline.

The Star Wars Fragrance Collection’s launch in travel retail coincided with the release of new Disney blockbuster Rogue One

The Star Wars Fragrance Collection, featuring six edps, launched in World Duty Free (UK) stores in November, to coincide with the release of the Disney blockbuster Rogue One.

Neil Jerzak of Star Wars Fragrances visited the World Duty Free store at Gatwick Airport and described the customer experience and engagement as “incredible”.

“The Star Wars fragrances feature in primary positions, giving the consumers an opportunity to touch, sample and experience the fragrances. We are delighted by the presentation of the product and the support offered by World Duty Free,” he said.

In another collaboration with Disney, detangling hairbrush brand Tangle Teezer will launch two new Star Wars-themed Compact Styler brushes in February. New Disney Princess and Frozen designs will also be featured.

Tangle Teezer also collaborates with fashion designers Lulu Guinness and Markus Lupfer, Hello Kitty and Skinny Dip. TRS said flamingo prints will launch in the summer.

TRS said it aims to present the travel retail industry with innovative concepts, new ideas and a refreshing approach to sales.
