AUSTRALIA. Sydney Airport has awarded Travelex its foreign exchange and ATM services contract following a tender.
The leading foreign exchange provider will initially operate ten foreign exchange stores and over 20 ATMs in Terminal 1 from 1 July, dispensing Australian dollars and foreign currencies.

A Sydney Airport statement said the expanded network will deliver more integrated financial services while responding to evolving traveller preferences for digital, pre-trip and multi-channel solutions.
Sydney Airport Group Executive Commercial Mark Zaouk said: “We’re pleased to welcome Travelex as our new foreign exchange partner, bringing a broader and more integrated approach that reflects the evolving needs of today’s traveller.

“Travelex’s expanded offering will provide passengers with greater choice, convenience and flexibility, helping to enhance the travel experience from departure through to arrival.
“I’d also like to thank Global Exchange for their partnership in delivering foreign exchange services at Sydney Airport.”
Travelex Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Asokan Sathurayar said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Sydney Airport, particularly during a milestone year for Travelex as we celebrate 50 years of helping travellers explore the world.
“Securing this contract is a strong endorsement of our customer proposition and reflects our continued commitment to providing convenient, secure and reliable travel money services.
“We look forward to welcoming passengers and delivering exceptional service and value they expect from Sydney Airport.”
The expanded services will also include access to over 50 foreign currencies through online pre-order or in-store purchase, as well as the option to acquire or reload a prepaid Travelex Travel Money Card with balances in up to ten different currencies.
Sathurayar said: “We’ve made significant investments in our product offering, digital capabilities and customer service experience, and we’re excited to launch our enhanced services at Sydney Airport.
