Beyond Chocolate Australia has appointed Traveller’s Trove to represent its 1875 Sweet Discovery and Joy Sweets products in travel retail.
The partnership is the result of a chance meeting in Singapore earlier this year that brought together two veterans of the travel retail confectionery business: Chris Gray and Gerry Murray.
Beyond Chocolate Australia was started by Gray, who recognised an opportunity in the industry after working with several leading Australian brands and taking them to market globally. On top of providing private label manufacturing to some key travel destinations, Gray started developing the 1875 Sweet Discovery range, which comprises tropical fruits, berries and nuts enrobed in chocolate and presented in a selection of premium pack options.

Traveller’s Trove was founded two years ago by Murray, who has been instrumental in driving the growth of some of the leading confectionery brands in travel retail over the past 15 years. The consulting and brand representation business is actively adding to its brand portfolio and the deal with Beyond Chocolate will complement the company’s agency, Murray said.
“I am delighted to have been chosen by Chris to represent his brand in travel retail,” he added. “He understands the consumer and customer needs in this segment and has created a wonderful range of products to fill the gap for a quality informal gift and sharing offer.
“The packaging has tremendous shelf presence; the multipacks are perfect for the channel, and he has come up with some innovative flavour combinations in a quality product. I’m really looking forward to working with Chris and his colleagues to grow the business together.”
