UK. Some 200 senior executives from the global travel retail industry – suppliers, retailers, airlines and airports – have gathered in London for the Trinity Forum, which began with a packed cocktail party last night.
The Trinity Forum is re-evaluating the current industry model in the light of the unprecedented round of crises faced by the business in recent times. A number of important fringe meetings took place before the event yesterday, all emphasising that the industry simply must change its traditional ways if it is to survive.
This morning, delegates will hear an uncompromising keynote speech from Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, the ceo of the world’s biggest foods company, Nestlé, in which he calls for an end to the industry’s “splendid isolation”.
A documentary, exclusive to the event, features senior executives from all three points of the “Trinity” calling for closer partnership between the parties, less emphasis on the financial aspects of retail tenders and greater transparency in an historically secretive industry.
The Trinity Forum is organised by Moodie International and Marshall Lightfoot.
