Famous US retail designer Ron Pompei will present a one-hour lecture entitled “Stagecraft and Retail Design” | |
AUSTRIA. Award-winning US retail designer Ron Pompei is to speak at the International Retail Forum themed “Stagecraft in Retailing II”, organised by the Umdasch Shop Academy in Alpbach from 15 to 17 October 2009.
Pompei, who will present a one-hour lecture entitled “Stagecraft and Retail Design”, began his career as an artist and later attracted attention with a light installation in Philadelphia.
In 1990, Pompei established the design office Pompei A.D. in New York together with partners. His work is based on the C3 design philosophy: Commerce, Culture and Community. He has employed this innovative retail design approach for brands such as Anthropologie, Coca Cola, Levi’s, MTV, Old Navy, Sony, The Discovery Channel and Urban Outfitters. Pompei has won numerous international design prizes.
The Alpbach International Retail Forum’s programme introduces retail and brand professionals to secrets and success factors of presentations in a variety of fields by means of lectures, discussions and live experiences. There will be practical examples of successful staging from the retail sector as well as “recipes” for overcoming current challenges.
