Umdasch unveils the latest shopfitting trends – 03/03/09

AUSTRIA. Umdasch Shop-Concept, the travel retail shopfitting specialist, has included Heinemann’s retail development at the Airport Plaza in Hamburg in its latest issue of SHOP aktuell, the international specialist shopfitting magazine.

The German travel retailer’s Hamburg Airport project is featured in an article about the trend for glass in shopfitting. The article also includes projects such as Milly at Harrods in London, Levi’s in Berlin, Esprit in Oberhausen and Tommy Hilfiger in Salzburg.

The latest issue also talks about the challenges facing retailers, including market saturation in Western-oriented countries; ecological trends and Corporate & Social Responsibility; the power of the “Best Agers”; the vertical revolution; multi-channel strategies; and the new focus of shopping centres. SHOP aktuell 105 analyses the different trends and describes practical examples.

In view of the current economic and ecological situation, the cover story discusses the possibility of a return to the concept of “shopfitting light”, the company said.

Also included is the first advance report about the Alpbach International Retail Forum “Stagecraft in Retailing II”, which the Umdasch Shop Academy will be presenting in the Tyrolean Alps from 15-17 October 2009.
