NETHERLANDS. An international search is on for Maxxium’s next chief executive officer, as Roland van Bommel will step down from the post and from the board of directors from 1 July.
After five years heading the company, Van Bommel will “pursue other career opportunities”, and will continue to “advise the Board until 30 September 2004 on key projects”, according to the company.
Maxxium Chairman Huub van Doorne said: “Roland has been CEO since the start of Maxxium in August 1999. Over these five years he has been one of the principal architects behind the building of Maxxium into an organisation which has the respect of the industry.
“The successes of Maxxium are many, but I would like to highlight the establishment of a strong and effective team throughout the organisation, around the world and consistent core brand growth over the five year period, as two key achievements. I would like to thank Roland for his contribution and would like to wish him well in the future.”
Meanwhile, the company, which specialises in marketing and distributing premium spirits and wines, said that the search for a new CEO is “at a critical stage”. The hunt is being conducted by Korn Ferry of London, and an announcement confirming the new CEO can be expected “shortly”.
Earlier this month, Maxxium announced that it will be expanding its Global Travel Retail operations to cover new regions, including the Caribbeans, Latin America and the Middle East.
