AMERICAS. Martín Eurnekian, Chief Executive Officer of Corporación América Airports, is the latest big name confirmed to speak in the Knowledge Hub at the Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience, which takes place on 5-9 April.
Eurnekian is also Chairman of Airports Council International (ACI World) and was previously President of ACI Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC).
As reported, the all-digital Summit is being organised by the International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libres (ASUTIL) in partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report (which organised the successful Virtual Travel Retail Expo from 12-16 October). Corporación América currently operates 52 airports in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Ecuador, Armenia and Italy. With over 18 years of experience in managing diverse businesses in Latin America and Europe, Eurnekian has led the evaluation, acquisition and construction processes at many of the group airports. He is also Chairman of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 and a member of the board of each of the airport operating companies controlled by the group.
More senior airport executives set to speak at the Summit of the Americas event will be named shortly.
Other speakers named in recent days include Hudson CEO Roger Fordyce, ARI-North America General Manager Jackie McDonagh, Motta Internacional Senior Vice President Aurelio Barria, Midway Partnership CEO (and Vantage Airport Group Chief Commercial Officer) Sammy Patel and PT&M Managing Director Eric Trichot (whose company is leading the tender process at Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport Company).
They join an already senior and diverse list of participants, with more from across the Americas industry community to be announced in coming days. As reported, Walmart Senior Vice President, Sustainability Jane Ewing will address the key theme of sustainability in retail and travel retail.

Themes to be explored include the reshaping of the airport experience, changing consumer demand, digitalisation, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, alongside sessions that analyse travel prospects for the region and on the economic outlook.
