Swiss cigar specialist Villiger has extended its 1492 cigar line with a new Robusto format.
The 120mm x 20mm Robusto, launched at TFWA World Exhibition, features aromatic and mild tobacco from the Dominican Republic. Its wrapper is Ecuador Connecticut and its binder combines Java Besuki with Santo Domingo Seco Piloto. The filler is Ligero Piloto and Seco Olor.
According to Villiger Export Director Northern and Eastern Europe Rob Koelman, Robusto was developed primarily for travel retail but will be available in selected domestic markets.
Villiger 1492 honours Christopher Columbus’s journey to the Americas and the subsequent introduction of tobacco into Europe. The line includes Corona, Short Perfecto, Minuto and Perla formats.
