SWITZERLAND. Weitnauer Distribution, the Swiss distribution specialist with over 50 years of experience in duty free, will be travelling to Cannes with a new CEO this year.
Markus Wehrli was appointed CEO in January 2007. After joining Weitnauer in 1994, he worked in various roles in Basel and then spent three years abroad, heading Weitnauer’s companies in New York and Aruba.
Well-known for its customised solutions, the company concentrates on the distribution of luxury goods for world-famous manufacturers. Besides its strengths in the duty free market, Weitnauer is successful in domestic distribution, especially for perfumes and cosmetics but also for luxury watches in emerging markets.
Through state-of-the-art logistics operations, Weitnauer supplies retailers from a central warehouse in Basel and decentralised warehouses in Europe and America.
