UK. News, books and convenience retailer WHSmith has opened four stores covering 11,000sq ft at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2, which opened on 4 June.
The new stores feature the retailer’s latest design concept and offer an extended range of reading materials (including “˜bookazines’ published exclusively for WHSmith), confectionery, snacks, drinks and travel accessories.

The stores also boast extended payment zones with self-service checkouts and contactless payment options for faster processing. The biggest of WHSmith’s new stores covers more than 4,800sq ft in the airside Departures area.
WHSmith CEO Stephen Clarke said: “We are delighted to have opened four new stores in such prime locations within Heathrow Terminal 2 and very much look forward to providing customers with great service and the product range they expect from WHSmith as they pass through this fantastic terminal.”
WHSmith operates more than 1,300 stores across the UK and several international markets.
