Empowering Connections: WiTR+ expands globally to further its mission of advancing women in travel retail

AUSTRALIA. Women in Travel Retail Plus (WiTR+) has extended its global presence with its Australian debut, bringing together more than 40 women from across the sector at its first Sydney event.

Hosted by Pernod Ricard, the event opened with Champagne and cocktails provided by the company. It was followed by a panel discussion featuring industry leaders, including Pernod Ricard Regional Director – Global Travel Retail Pacific Becky Holliday, La Prairie Managing Director Australia and New Zealand Rosi Fernandez, and Avolta Country Commercial Manager Tanya Leivers.

Advancing women in the sector and navigating the changing travel retail landscape were high on the agenda

They reflected on their career experiences, and offered perspectives on the shifting travel retail landscape and highlighted their commitment to supporting women in the sector.

WiTR+ Chair Sarah Branquinho said, “What a fabulous celebration of shared experiences, new connections and the incredible energy that comes from bringing women together.

“Huge thanks to all those who participated and will hopefully go on to join this global community, and to Tanya, Rosi and Becky for working together on what I hope will be the first of many meetings of the Australian ‘chapter’ of WiTR+.”

The event included door prizes from WiTR+ supporters.

The debut marked the beginning of initiatives supporting mentorship, collaboration and leadership for women in travel retail, the association noted.
