Beefeater Winter Gin’s European travel retail debut in the main World Duty Free store at London Heathrow Terminal 3 | |
UK. Beefeater Winter Gin, the limited-edition gin from Pernod Ricard-owned Beefeater, has made its European travel retail debut in the main World Duty Free store at London Heathrow Terminal 3.
Throughout November 2010 the product was presented on a stand-alone podium and sampled as a new winter cocktail, Beefeater Winter Hot Apple Gin Punch.
Packaged in a striking limited-edition bottle and gift carton, Beefeater Winter Gin will only be available throughout the winter months, making it a gift for cocktail lovers and a seasonal staple, according to Pernod Ricard.
“We are delighted that our strong partnership with World Duty Free has enabled us to showcase Beefeater Winter Edition in a high profile location in the build up to the holiday season,” said Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Europe Brand Manager Neil Sharp.
“By sampling the festive winter spiced punch we created additional theatre and stand-out around the promotion which encouraged trial and trade-up. The striking packaging and gift carton make it extremely appealing both to existing Beefeater consumers and to shoppers looking for a special and exclusive Christmas gift.”
Following the launch in Heathrow T3, Beefeater Winter Gin will be available throughout World Duty Free stores in the UK.
Tasting notes
Beefeater Winter Gin features the added botanicals cinnamon, nutmeg and pine shoots. The intense aroma of cinnamon is complemented by the soft sweetness of nutmeg and balanced by the fresh flavour of pine shoots enhancing the piney flavour of juniper. Master Distiller Desmond Payne added these botanicals, along with extra Seville orange peel to the original Beefeater London Dry recipe to create a spiced and warming gin.
Beefeater Winter Hot Apple Gin Punch is made with one part Beefeater Winter Edition Gin and three parts pressed apple juice. Method: pour gin into a cup and add warmed apple juice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a grating of nutmeg.
