World Duty Free exclusively launches two Jackson-Triggs wines

CANADA. World Duty Free (WDF) is selling two new Jackson-Triggs wines from Constellation Brands exclusively to passengers at Vancouver International Airport.

Jackson-Triggs Select Shiraz, priced at C$35, and Jackson-Triggs Select Merlot 2013 (C$30) from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia are available now in limited quantities at the International Terminal.

The 2013 Grand Reserve Select Shiraz, which is dark in colour, features a nose that is layered with toasty oak aromas, ripe black currant fruit and peppery notes. Described as “well-structured and full of aroma”, the 2013 Grand Reserve Select Merlot offers berry fruit flavours on the palate and a rich finish.

Local focus: World Duty Free is offering the Okanagan wines exclusively to customers at Vancouver

World Duty Free said that this latest release bolsters the partnership between the retailer and Constellation Brands in British Columbia, where the exclusivity is running, as well as strengthen its varied wine offer. Offering local products to customers also highlights WDF’s focus on creating a Sense of Place in its retail environments, the company noted.

Eight new wines from Constellation Brands will be introduced to World Duty Free’s store at Vancouver this autumn, including a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon from the Robert Mondavi Winery and a New Zealand Pinot Noir from the Kim Crawford Winery.

World Duty Free Liquor Category Manager – International Jose Manuel Slater said: “We are delighted to be able to collaborate with Constellation Brands to offer our customers these two excellent wines on an exclusive basis in British Columbia. The Jackson-Triggs Shiraz and Merlot Selects are both a great commercial fit for our brand and we’re excited to be able to offer them an opportunity to reach an international market, raising significant awareness for this local brand. We are sure both novices and wine experts alike will be charmed by them.”

Constellation Brands Vice President Global Travel Retail Randy Dufour commented: “Jackson-Triggs is delighted to be expanding our partnership with World Duty Free Group in the Vancouver Airport. Jackson-Triggs is the best-selling wine brand in Canada, and we have been able to secure small quantities of our best grapes from the SunRock Vineyard for these special and exclusive wines. This is a unique opportunity for locals and visitors alike to share with friends and colleagues an example of the exciting things happening in the Okanagan Valley wine industry”.
