World of Patria International (WoPI) is introducing its portfolio of premium and super premium spirits and wines to the Americas market at this year’s IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas (booth 1300).

For its show debut, WoPI is to launch a number of brands to Americas travel retail for the first time.

One of these new brands is The Last Drop, featuring a 1960 blended Scotch Whisky and a 1950 Cognac. It is joined by a number of premium whisky brands including Inish Turk Beg Irish Whiskey, Orbis Aged World Whiskey (St James Distillery) and Wemyss Vintage Malts – all believed by WoPI to be ideal for travel retail, where the supplier believes premium and super-premium items continue to offer the greatest potential.

To satisfy demand for premium white spirits, WoPI is introducing Darnley’s View Gin from the Wemyss Distillery. Darnley’s View harks back to Scotland in 1565, when Mary Queen of Scots first saw her future husband Lord Darnley through the courtyard window of Wemyss Castle. The hand-crafted gin is made using six carefully selected botanicals including juniper, lemon peel and elderflower.

Soyombo, the new super premium Mongolian vodka, is suitable for “those seeking something even more “˜out of the ordinary'”, WoPI said.

Wines are an important part of the WoPI stable and the IAADFS show sees the introduction of the Follador premium Prosecco selection, which includes a special gift tube for travel retail. Also on show are Oyster Bay Wines, First Cape Wines and – new to the WoPI portfolio – New Zealand Glacier Wines, details of which will be announced shortly.

Besides liquor, WoPI will also showcase chocolate from Finnish brand Fazer, which it is now distributing in the Americas.

One lucky visitor to the WoPI stand will also get the opportunity to win a bottle of The Last Drop 1960 Blended Scotch Whisky, which has a suggested retail price of US$2,700. The winner will be selected on Wednesday 14 March at 1500 hours. To enter the draw, just visit the WoPI booth and deposit your business card.

WOPI Managing Director Rob Nichols said: “We’re very excited to be exhibiting at the Duty Free Show of the Americas, bringing what we believe to be a truly exceptional portfolio of premium and super-premium spirits and wines to the Americas. The majority of our portfolio is new to the travel retail market, offering dynamic, exciting high quality brands with great stories and wonderful provenance, some of which are exclusive to the travel retail channel.”

WOPI Director Kevin Baker added: “I have many Duty Free Shows of the Americas under my belt, but for me this is one of the most exciting, if not challenging, yet. We’re a small company with big ideas and a big vision. I’m confident that we’ve got the perfect portfolio for Americas travel retail – both north and south. Now we just need retailers and operators to come and find out for themselves.”
