CHINA. Zhuhai Duty Free Group has secured the operating rights for the arrivals duty-free shop at Nanning Wuxu International Airport in Guangxi.

The company already operates the airport’s departures duty-free business.

Nanning Wuxu International Airport serves as a key gateway to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

It is the largest aviation hub in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, recording 97,000 flight movements and serving 13 million passengers in 2025.

The airport serves 44 airlines operating routes to 101 cities, including 25 international and regional routes. These include key ASEAN destinations such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hanoi, Phnom Penh and Jakarta.

Leveraging Guangxi’s geographical advantages as well as its extensive route network, Nanning Wuxu International Airport plays an important role in facilitating people-to-people exchanges, trade, cultural ties and tourism between China and ASEAN.

The 438sq m Zhuhai Duty Free arrivals store is currently located in the T2 international arrivals hall. It will later relocate to the T3 international arrivals in line with the commissioning of the new terminal.

Zhuhai Duty Free Group noted, “At present, with the ongoing refinement of visa-free policies and the orderly resumption of international flights, the inbound tourism market continues to recover.

“The establishment of an inbound duty-free shop at Nanning Wuxu International Airport will further enhance the commercial facilities in the international arrivals area, broaden shopping options for inbound travellers, and improve the airport’s capacity to serve consumers.”

Since the beginning of the year, Zhuhai Duty Free has also secured operating rights for the arrivals duty-free shop at Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, plus the arrivals and depatures duty-free stores at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport.

Looking ahead, the company plans to leverage its presence in Nanning, Guilin and other locations to further develop its duty-free business in South China and the ASEAN region.
