Zurich Airport commercial turnover climbs +4.5% in Q1 but lags passenger growth

Airside sales across retail and dining climbed by a sharp +8% year-on-year in the quarter

SWITZERLAND. Zurich Airport retail and dining turnover reached CHF137.5 million (US$175.7 million) in the first three months of 2026, a rise of +4.5% year-on-year.

Airside sales climbed by +8% with landside sales slipping -2% compared to Q1 2025.

The commercial increase lagged passenger traffic growth of +6.5% year-on-year to 6.9 million in the quarter.

Airside spend per departing passenger climbed +2.8% to reach CHF23.40 (US$29.90), a rise of +2.8% year-on-year.

In March alone, retail and dining turnover reached CHF47.5 million (US$60.7 million), a rise of +2.2%, with passenger traffic up +4.9% year-on-year to 2.47 million.

Airside spend per passenger hit CHF22.70 (US$29), a rise of +1.4% compared to March 2025.
