Proximo Spirits brand 1800 Tequila has launched Triple Cask Añejo, a new expression to be unveiled at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Harbour Village, SUD yacht).
The tequila product – in a one-litre format at 40% ABV – is set to roll out exclusively in travel retail from 2026.
The tequila is crafted from 100% blue agave and aged in a combination of French oak, American oak and Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks. The brand owner said this maturation delivers a layered profile that balances agave’s “natural intensity with oak sophistication”.

The Triple Cask Añejo was conceived as part of a series that pays tribute to founder Juan Francisco Beckmann, who championed the idea that tequila could stand alongside the world’s finest whiskies and Cognacs. The project is now carried forward by his son, Juan Domingo Beckmann.
Positioned as an ultra-premium product, the expression is said to reflect Proximo Spirits’ and 1800 Tequila’s strategy to lead premiumisation in the tequila category.
According to IWSR figures, ultra-premium tequila is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of +6% over the next five years.

Proximo Spirits Head of GTR Roy Summers said: “Premiumisation is reshaping spirits in travel retail, and 1800 Tequila is at the forefront of this movement. The new Triple Cask expression embodies sophistication and innovation, offering travellers a unique, ultra-premium spirit.
“This launch strengthens our category leadership and unlocks growth opportunities by elevating tequila in the world’s top airports.
“We have big ambitions for 1800 Tequila in the travel retail channel. We know there is an appetite for GTR exclusive products that deliver quality and authenticity, and the new 1800 Triple Cask Añejo really hits the mark for its luxury appeal.
“We plan to roll it out across all global regions including UK, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Middle East in 2026.” ✈
