NEW ZEALAND. Bacardi Global Travel Retail’s 42 Below “˜Holiday in a Box’ promotion at Auckland Airport has won DFS’s Star Promotion of the Month Award for best presentation, sales conversion, visuals, and in-store activity.
“Working with our retail partners to provide innovative, consumer-focused programmes is important to Bacardi. We were thrilled to launch our new 42 Below initiative in conjunction with DFS’s 25th Anniversary celebration,” said Bacardi Global Travel Retail Marketing Director Trent Russell.
Launched in Auckland Airport on 1 February, the month-long promotion featured an interactive 42 Below photo booth, sampling at the 42 Below Bar, and a gift-with-purchase.

The photo booth allowed travellers to superimpose their snap shots on 42 Below-inspired vacation scenes |
At the 42 Below photo booth, travellers superimposed their snap shots on a variety of 42 Below-inspired vacation scenes, allowing travellers to capture an authentic Auckland experience.
As a keepsake, travellers received a print immediately in the store and/or via e-mail to easily share with others on social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook.
The 42 Below bar was comprised of festive suitcases. Travellers of legal drinking age were invited to sample signature cocktails freshly prepared by a trained brand ambassador, and those who purchased two bottles for NZ$75 (US$53.50) received a waterproof camera bag.
