Qatar Duty Free kicks off 2014 with tennis tournament sponsorship

QATAR. Qatar Duty Free is using its sponsorship of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 – currently in progress in Doha – to showcase its product range and run an exclusive promotion.

Running until 5 January, the tennis tournament has attracted some of the sport’s leading names including Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer and Andy Murray – three of the world’s top four players.

Qatar Duty Free is the bronze sponsor of the tournament and has a presence in the public village with a dedicated pavilion showcasing a wide range of items. Among the products for sale are fashion items, bags, jewellery, sunglasses, confectionery, souvenirs and electronics.

Qatar Duty Free’s sponsorship of the tournament kicks off an important year for the retailer, during which it is set to commence operations at the new Hamad International Airport in Doha. It will operate approximately 25,000sq m of retail and food & beverage space in the new hub, where it will roll out a number of new concepts.
