Foreo deepens digital engagement with cdf Beauty through Hong Kong livestreaming event

CHINA (HONG KONG). Swedish beauty tech giant Foreo has teamed up with China Duty Free Group, China’s and the world’s number one retailer in terms of 2020 sales, to host an hour-long livestream in Hong Kong on cdf Beauty’s WeChat Mini Program.

The livestream, Foreo’s first in Hong Kong, was broadcast on 9 July. It featured several of Foreo’s best-selling products including the Luna 3, Luna Mini 3, and Iris eye massager.

The livestream highlighted several travel retail exclusive releases such as the Picture Perfect and Luna Mini 3 Winter sets.

To increase engagement, the livestream session featured a giveaway with viewers who had the highest number of shares winning a Luna Play, Luna Fofo or limited edition Foreo yoga mat.

World number one makes strong virtual statement 

China Duty Free Group is the exclusive Strategic Cooperation Partner for the Virtual Travel Retail Expo (11-15 October).

CDFG will have its own digital zone called CDFG City, to showcase both current and planned projects.

A gateway presence to CDFG City will feature in both the Hainan Discovery zone and the Retailer Emporium, both new additions to the 2021 Expo.

The CDFG management, buying, branding and merchandising teams will be out in full force at the Expo, both within CDFG City and also visiting the various brand exhibitors.

The livestreaming collaboration underscores Foreo’s commitment to expanding its digital presence and enhancing its zero-contact shopping offer in the post-pandemic retail landscape.

Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong commented, “Foreo is continuing to strengthen its ecommerce initiatives in Hong Kong and Macau with cdf Beauty.

“The ‘new normal’ has pushed us to be more creative when it comes to our digital marketing, and it has been an interesting journey. Exploring this new digital landscape has given us the opportunity to find new ways to market our products, and tailor our content to suit certain customer demographics.

In 2019, CDFG took its first steps into Hong Kong’s downtown duty free market by opening a 10,000sq ft beauty multi-brand cdf Beauty store at the Citygate Outlets in Tung Chung. It offers an array of international skincare, makeup and fragrance brands.
