Underberg names Thomas Kirscht as Head of Sales Global Travel Retail

German herbal liquor specialist Underberg has appointed Thomas Kirscht as Head of Sales Global Travel Retail, effective from 1 August.

The well-known and highly-respected executive has over 25 years of international sales and marketing experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, particularly in the wines & spirits sector, primarily but not limited to travel retail.

Kirscht joins Underberg from International Diplomatic Supplies where he was Head of Sales Eastern/South East and Northern Europe. His career also includes over 11 years with Rémy-Cointreau and over 15 years with Gebr. Heinemann.

In a LinkedIn post, Kirscht said his new position with Underberg offers a “new challenge, a new opportunity in drinks and global travel retail”.

“I am very happy and proud to start working for such an iconic family-owned company,” he added.

Underberg Founder Hubert Underberg launched his herbal digestive drink – manufactured with a secret Semper Idem procedure – in 1846.

The family business in now into its fifth generation, with a focus on both tradition and progression.

The all-natural Underberg Herbal Digestive features aromatic herbs from 43 countries. The drink contains only water, alcohol and herbal extracts and is without additives.

Each bottle is individually wrapped to ensure the neck of the bottle remains hygienically clean.
