Gebr. Heinemann has opened two exclusive duty-free shops onboard Mein Schiff Flow, the latest vessel in TUI Cruises’ InTUItion-class fleet.

According to the retailer, the stores introduce an experience-led retail concept designed specifically for the cruise environment.

Gebr. Heinemann is the exclusive retail partner operating the two stores: Meine Freude, the larger of the two at 318sq m, and Mein Glanz, covering 51sq m of space.

The operational handover took place in June following completion of the new-build vessel. Gebr. Heinemann said the final commissioning of both stores was completed within two weeks thanks to close collaboration between the onboard crew and the company’s headquarters team.

Mein Schiff Flow comprises 19 decks and accommodates up to 3,984 guests.

The Gebr. Heinemann-operated stores were developed to complement the ship’s contemporary, relaxed atmosphere, combining a curated product assortment with an experience-driven shopping environment.

The outlets’ product offering covers all major duty-free categories, including perfumes & cosmetics, spirits & wine, tobacco, confectionery, fashion & accessories, watches & jewellery.

According to Gebr. Heinemann, the concepts reflect several key trends influencing the future of travel retail: experience, activation and personalisation.

Highlights include a redesigned logo merchandise collection presented as a fashion-led concept, alongside destination-inspired assortments tailored to the ship’s itinerary.

Other noteworthy elements include sustainable pre-loved luxury accessories, niche fragrances and personalisation services such as fragrance and jewellery engraving.

Gebr. Heinemann said the assortment was curated to extend beyond traditional duty-free shopping. Its cruise offer reflects evolving traveller expectations while reinforcing the role of onboard retail as a key part of the journey.

Gebr. Heinemann Managing Director Cruise Retail Kerstin Niemann commented, “Opening our new shops onboard Mein Schiff Flow is a special moment for us because it brings many of the ideas our team has been developing over the past months and years together in one highly curated retail experience.

“The feedback during the first opening days has been fantastic – from guests, crew members and management alike.”

“Together with our longstanding partner Gebr. Heinemann, we have created a retail experience that reflects this philosophy and complements the overall guest experience onboard.” 🛳️
