
Edrington Global Travel Retail has launched The Macallan 110 Proof 12 Years Old, a travel retail-exclusive single malt Scotch whisky in partnership with Ever Rich Duty Free. It retails at NT$3,500 (US$115).
The Macallan 110 Proof 12 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is available in The Macallan Boutique at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport and in select duty-free stores at airports across Taiwan.
Bottled at 55% ABV, the whisky is a reinterpretation of The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old, matured in predominantly sherry-seasoned European oak casks and known for imparting rich and complex flavours.
Presented at a higher strength, The Macallan 110 Proof amplifies the Sherry Oak’s signature fruit, spice and oak notes, while revealing new layers of character.
The Macallan has a more than 200-year heritage with sherry-seasoned oak casks. The 110 Proof extends this legacy, delivering an intensified flavour profile.
The higher ABV enriches the whisky’s full-bodied profile, deepening the influence of European oak.
On the nose, The Macallan 110 Proof opens with notes of sticky dates, cherry compote, cinnamon, cacao nibs and dried orange slices.
On the palate, rich oak and sultanas combine with stem ginger, star anise and mandarin, alongside dark chocolate-coated espresso bean notes. The finish is long and warming, with treacle toffee, mocha and sweet cinnamon layers.
