QATAR. With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in full swing, Hamad International Airport is hosting a wide array of exciting activations relating to the global sporting event, providing millions of passengers with memorable football experiences.
HIA is the Official Airport Partner of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The special events include match day-themed performances, a mosaic photo wall, kids’ zones, fan zones and viewing zones.

Also featuring are interactive virtual activities such as AR (augmented reality) football, which features the World Cup tournament’s La’eeb Mascot reacting with the players.
There is also a dedicated ‘try your teams’ jersey’ booth for football fans to pose for photos with their favourite team shirt and have the images sent directly to their email.
Activations can be found dotted around HIA’s expanded terminal, located in concourses A, B, and C, with fan and kids’ zones across all concourses.
The kids’ zones feature a variety of activities, including interactive drawings, face painting, a soccer ball pit and giant Lego set-ups.

The mosaic photo wall is located next to the famous lamp bear at the centre of the airport’s South Plaza, with the location providing a great photo opportunity for passengers.
In collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar, several activity booths have been installed at HIA’s North Plaza. These include WHO’s ‘Sport for Health’ and ‘Bring the Moves’ campaigns.
Commenting on the activations, HIA COO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer said: “As the official airport partner of the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East, we are delighted to be hosting several activations and events at our premises – celebrating the tournament with our travellers and proudly representing the State of Qatar.”
He added: “Curated for all passengers, the FIFA-themed activations will provide our visitors with a variety of options to discover HIA’s world-class services and hospitality.”
