UAE. Abu Dhabi Duty Free’s newly-launched website has won two awards in recognition of the quality of service it offers.
The www.addf.ae website was named ‘Best in Class’ in two categories – E-commerce and Consumer Goods – at the Interactive Media Awards (IMA).
The awards were created by the Interactive Media Council, a non-profit organisation dedicated to elevating the standards of excellence on the internet.
The recognition for Abu Dhabi Duty Free comes only weeks after the importance of e-commerce was highlighted at The Trinity Forum, with many industry executives recognising the need for the travel retail industry to improve and evolve its digital offerings.
Abu Dhabi Duty Free said its website, launched in June, was created to further enhance the passenger experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The retailer aimed to create a friendly interface and sleek design – two factors highlighted by the IMA judges. The website offers travellers a range of core duty free items online, prior to departure or upon arrival at the airport.
“This kind of recognition from industry leaders acts as an incentive for us to continue to deliver first class digital services to all those who use Abu Dhabi Airports’ websites,” said Abu Dhabi Airports Chairman H.E. Ali Majed Al Mansoori.
“After record sales at Abu Dhabi Duty Free in 2015, we hope that this award-winning website will give travellers even more reason to fly to, from, and via Abu Dhabi International Airport, further boosting sales.”
