Adelaide Airport opens ‘newest and most efficient aviation terminal in Australia’ – 07/10/05

The South Australian gateway is introducing a fusion of international and local offers in its retail and F&B range

AUSTRALIA. Adelaide Airport Limited (AAL) today opened what it describes as the “newest and most efficient aviation terminal in Australia”, a A$260 million (US$197 million) facility featuring the latest design and technology innovation and a major emphasis on commercial revenues.

The opening this morning was attended by Prime Minister John Howard, whose VIP jet arrived at the 750m long terminal. He then became the first passenger to walk up one of the glass-sided aerobridges. He later presided over the opening ceremony and a lunch for 500 guests. Public open days will be held tomorrow and Sunday.

Commercial flights will begin using the new terminal from 15 October. The airport’s commercial offer brings together strong national and international names.
