Air Serbia elevates onboard duty-free programme with extended Avolta partnership

SERBIA. Air Serbia has extended its onboard duty-free programme to all flights exceeding 90 minutes, in partnership with travel retailer Avolta.

The collaboration enables access to a retail offer that was previously limited to selected routes.

The move builds on an existing partnership with Avolta, which operates locally as Belgrade Duty Free at airports including Belgrade Nikola Tesla.

The collaboration reflects a broader trend among mid-sized European carriers to enhance onboard retail propositions in line with evolving passenger expectations and competitive pressures.

Following a phased rollout, Air Serbia has now standardised the service across its short- and medium-haul network above the 1.5-hour threshold, significantly increasing touchpoints for inflight sales.

The retail offer includes international and Serbian brands alongside proprietary merchandise tied to the airline’s identity.

Air Serbia said: “Following the successful introduction of the duty-free offer on selected routes, Air Serbia decided to make the service even more broadly accessible.

“This allows passengers on shorter flights to enjoy a carefully curated selection of exclusive products from domestic and international brands, as well as original promotional items from the national airline’s collection.”

In 2025, Air Serbia achieved a record-breaking performance, carrying over 4.57 million passengers and operating 48,925 flights, a +3% increase in passengers and +4% increase in flights over 2024.
