SPAIN. Aldeasa announced today that its Chilean division has signed an agreement with the country’s civil aviation authority DGAC to extend its three duty free store concessions at the Arturo Merino Benitez-Pudahuel airport by ten years.
Pudahuel is an outlying suburb of Santiago.
In a statement, Aldeasa, currently the subject of a hotly-contested takeover bid, said the agreement begins on 6 July.
The retailer said it has also received permission to significantly increase its arrivals lounge floor space from 818sq m from a previous 212.5sq m. And the departures space will be increased from 1206sq metres from the current 641.
Arturo Merino Benitez-Pudahuel serves six million passengers per year.
The news is a big boost to Aldeasa and adds further value to a business that has already attracted a €33 a share (€693 million) takeover offer from Autogrill in partnership with Aldeasa’s lead shareholder Altadis.
