Alpha extends BA bonded stores management contract at Gatwick – 29/08/06

UK. Alpha Flight Services has extended its contract with British Airways (BA) for the management of the airline’s bonded stores at London Gatwick Airport. The new agreement lasts until 2009.

As part of Alpha’s investment, the bond will be relocated from the existing airside property, used by BA for the past 37 years, to Alpha’s nearby landside facilities on the Manor Royal estate. The move will take place this Autumn and will include the implementation of a new warehouse stock management system.

Alpha Flight Services UK and Ireland Managing Director Ken Adamson said: “Alpha is a long standing partner of British Airways at London Gatwick and the contract is a welcome extension of that relationship.

“Over the past twelve months Alpha has invested in upgraded bond facilities at Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin, and this further investment will ensure we have first class units and systems in place for the future.”

Alpha Flight Services offers catering logistics, inflight catering, bonded stores and management services for over 100 airlines in 10 countries.
