American Express strikes foreign exchange deal at Boston Logan

US. American Express Global Foreign Exchange Services has won a key contract to provide a range of currency exchange services at Boston Logan Airport. It’s the company’s first concession at the key US east coast location.

American Express will operate six permanent store locations plus a mobile cart, with a seventh permanent location to open later.

The American Express bureaux will be located in terminals A,B and E at Boston Airport. Terminal E is the principal international terminal at Boston, handling, among others, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, Alitalia, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Virgin, SWISS, Delta and some American Airlines departing international flights.

The units will be located in a number of areas, including check-in, landside arrivals, orientation areas and airside departures.

The contract win follows earlier deals that American Express has struck this year. These include new concessions at Birmingham and Copenhagen airports.

“We’re excited to offer our Currency Exchange services to travellers at Boston Airport, which is a busy and important hub for both international and domestic travellers,” said Helen Grace, VP of Global Airport Sales, Foreign Exchange Services at American Express. “The addition of Boston to our network of global airport Currency Exchange locations is an important milestone in the expansion of our airport portfolio.”

“American Express is well known to travellers and we’re pleased to offer our customers access to their Currency Exchange services at the new American Express airport locations throughout Boston Logan Airport,” said Brian McMorrow, Chief Financial Officer for Aviation at Boston Logan International Airport.
