anCnoc Highland single malt to launch new travel retail exclusives in Cannes

International Beverage will debut two new releases from anCnoc Highland single malt Scotch whisky at this month’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (stand number: Marine Village S2).

anCnoc pays tribute to its Highland home with its travel retail exclusive Black Hill Reserve, named after the Knockdhu Distillery (Black Hill in Gaelic) where the whisky is crafted.

Matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks and gold in appearance, Black Hill Reserve is described as crisp on the nose with notes of citrus and green apples along with a full bodied taste of ground spices and pear drops. The finish is “long and intense”, the brand said.

The packaging of anCnoc’s newest release features a contemporary grey label and gold lettering accompanying the black graphic illustration of the distillery that features across each expression.

Black Hill Reserve 100cl 46% is naturally coloured and non chill-filtered, with an RRP of £39.99 (€49.99 or US$64.99).

anCnoc Black Hill Reserve and Barrow will be launched exclusively in travel retail

The other exclusive launch, the limited-edition Barrow, is said to be the first peated expression of anCnoc to be released in travel retail.

With a fixed production of 7,500 bottles, Barrow has a phenol content of 13.5 ppm (parts per million) and is part of anCnoc’s new collection of peated malts, launched at the beginning of 2014 to help drinkers find a peaty dram to suit their palate. Faint gold, the whisky offers notes of warm wood and crème brulee on the palate and has an “unmistakably dry” finish.

The Barrow packaging echoes the rest of anCnoc’s peated collection, with a dark green bottle and black label, with the image of a “˜barrow’ tool used during the traditional peat cutting process.

anCnoc Barrow 100cl 46% is naturally coloured and non chill-filtered, with an RRP of £49.99 (€62.99 or US$81.99).

International Beverage Travel Retail Director James Bateman commented: “It’s very exciting to re-launch the anCnoc brand for 2015. These two exceptional new anCnoc expressions further demonstrate our portfolio commitment to global travel retailers and the duty free channel. We look forward to rolling out launch activity and to working in partnership with retailers to build success.”

The full anCnoc brand portfolio will be highlighted and available for sampling at the International Beverage stand in Cannes.
