SWITZERLAND. Swiss watch brand Aquanautic has released a new model in the Cuda collections called “˜First Cuda’.
The First Cuda watch is a three-hand model measuring 27 mm in diameter, making it the smallest of all Aquanautic watch ranges.
For 2005, the company is planning on launching two new models in the King Cuda collection as well as a new men’s collection targeted at the international market.
The brand was launched in 2002 and has built its reputation on making timepieces tailored for water sports.
Each model has its own Aquanautic signature: the seconds are indicated by a propeller. The watch is also characterised by the patented Crown-locking system, giving each watch the trademark Aquanautic waterproofing.
Each watch is produced in Switzerland and meets the water resistance standard of 100 meters for the Bara, First and Princess Cuda, and 300 meters for the King Cuda.
The company is one of the only Swiss brands that allow the customer to customise the watch using such a multitude of interchangeable bezels, straps and masks available. A special screwdriver is delivered with the watch allowing the model to be changed easily to various styles such as Sports Wear, Fashion or Elegant using parts such as diamond-studded, plastic or leather straps, or bezels of different designs.
The company has its own stone cutting and setting workshop. The diamonds are guaranteed to be of the highest quality and are hand-picked, cut, polished and set to Aquanautic’s exact specifications. The Star collection offers a choice of precious stone baguette bezels such as diamond, emerald, sapphire and ruby as well as 10 semi-precious stones baguette bezels.
The Bara, First and Princess models run on Swiss quartz movement whereas the King Cuda Chrono and the King Cuda 3 Hands operate on Swiss automatic movement. The latter was recently nominated in Geneva for last autumn’s ‘Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie’ in the sports watch category.
