Aviation pioneers inspire retro TX watch styles

This retro style TX 810 Series Classic Linear Chronograph combines nostalgia and innovation

US. TX Watch Company, the innovative watch brand owned by Timex Group, premiered a raft of new watches in its Retrospective range at BaselWorld 2010, many incorporating second time zones for travellers.

TX 610 Series: Classic Fly-back Chronograph

Paying homage to the aviation pioneers of the past, TX introduces the 610 Series: Classic Fly-back Chronograph, which forms part of the Retrospective family of TX Watches introduced at BaselWorld 2010.

Powered by a patented TX six-hand movement, this vintage-inspired Fly-back Chronograph features a classic perpetual calendar, while the sculpted dial of the round 316L stainless steel case aims to evoke the sophistication of classic timepieces.

The four-hour chronograph and fly-back feature, which uses the single push of the lower button for stopping, resetting and restarting the chronograph, ensure the elapsed time is tracked to within one fifth of a second. The upper retrograde of the fly-back’s multi-layered dial double functions as a second time zone for travellers.

The 610 Series is available with leather straps and stainless steel bracelet and silver or bi-metal cases.

Water-resistant to 10ATM, the watch retails from US$425 to US$550.

TX 810 Series: Classic Linear Chronograph

Aiming to combine nostalgia with the innovative technology of the Linear Chronograph series, the 810 Series: Classic Linear Chronograph is defined by fine detailing and craftsmanship.

The 46mm stainless steel case houses a proprietary TX Linear Chronograph movement with date and second time zone covered by a double curved K1 hardened crystal.

An extension of the revolutionary TX Linear Chronograph Series, the 810 Classic Linear Chronograph is driven by a sophisticated six hand movement run by four motors, each operating independently of each other. Bi-directional motors propel the linear hand located at nine o’clock, indicating the chronograph minutes singularly and in five minute increments, and a retrograde hand at four o’clock tracks the hours of the chronograph.

Part of the Retrospective family of TX Watches premiering at BaselWorld 2010, the watch is water-resistant to 10ATM and retails from US$425 to US$550.

Introducing the TX 310 Series

Extending its range in perpetual calendar watches, TX introduces the 310 Series, part of the Retrospective family of TX Watches introduced at Basel 2010.

The modestly scaled 44.5mm stainless steel case houses a proprietary six hand movement tracking day and month on a fine tuned retrograde display and date on a bevelled dial ring. The patented movement accurately displays the date, calculating for leap year, until 2100.

“The 310 Series offers a unique blend of quality, craftsmanship and style with a design principle that reflects a vintage spirit,” said TX Global Brand Director Stephen Scholz.

The Perpetual Calendar Classic is available in a range of black, white and brown leather straps and silver, rose, and yellow gold cases.

Water-resistant to 10ATM, the retail price ranges from US$375 from US$395.

This TX Pilot Flyback Chronograph white edition timepiece features bold detailing and ships in Spring 2010

TX GT Fly-Back Chronograph

In-store in Spring 2010, the new TX GT Fly-Back Chronograph 650 series aims to revolutionise the world of premium quartz analogue timepieces, the company said.

Inspired by the world of luxury motor sports, the TX GT Fly-back Chronograph is protected by a premium sapphire crystal and features an intricate multi-layered dial with finely crafted hands, exposed date display and bold colour statements.

The proprietary TX fly-back chronograph movement allows for the measurement of successive timing intervals at the push of a button, accurate within one fifth of a second. There is a 24-hour second time zone option.

Water-resistant to 10ATM, the watch retails from US$650 to US$725.

TX Pilot Fly-Back Chronograph

A follow-up to the global success of the “black-out” model of 2009, TX announces line extensions of the iconic Pilot Fly-Back Chronograph in blue, grey and white. The white edition ships in Spring 2010.

The TX Pilot Series, with a 47mm stainless steel case, features bold detailing and a visual hierarchy of navigational and timekeeping elements.

Visually powerful, the new extensions feature silicone top rings in vibrant blue, grey and white, with matching coloured dial and leather straps. The polished hands and markers are coated with Super Luminova for easy night visibility.

Through its proprietary fly-back chronograph function and tachymeter scale with second time zone capability, the TX 600 Series ensures that elapsed time is tracked to within one fifth of a second.

“The Pilot combines sophisticated, highly engineered components with aeronautically inspired sport-styling that is beautifully executed,” said TX Watches Global Brand Director Stephen Scholz.

Water-resistant to 10ATM, the retail price runs from US$495 to US$575.
