Bally showcases iconic Trainspotting line at IAADFS – 03/05/05

A highlight of the display was Bally’s iconic Trainspotting leathergoods line, featuring chocolate leather with red and white stripes or black leather with black and white stripes

SWITZERLAND. At last month’s IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas, Bally showcased its autumn/winter leathergoods and accessories collection in a booth recreating its new store concept.

The elegant booth was fitted in natural materials such as wooden floors and merchandising displays, together with angular leather seats in chocolate brown.

A highlight of the display was Bally’s iconic Trainspotting leathergoods line, featuring chocolate leather with red and white stripes or black leather with black and white stripes. The range comes in classic colours, with seasonal colours added. For autumn/winter 2005, the seasonal colour is olive with black and white stripes.

Best-selling lines for the company are flat messenger bags, popular with both men and women. A wide range of belts, keyrings and phone straps is also available.

Small leathergoods in the autumn/winter 2005 Sloane Ranger collection for women feature leathers in various treatments, deer skin, crocodile and python, in natural colours, contrasting with the hardware in light gold or satin finished. Details include exterior pockets, studs, buckles, top-stitching, contrasting linings and leather tassels. Footwear incorporates antiqued leather shoes with contrasting stitching, driving shoes in crocodile and python and shearling boots with stacked heels. Metallic leather pumps with removable fur pom-poms and fur hiking boots add a modern twist. Tassels, studs and hardware in gold and palladium are also a feature.

Store news

In other news, Bally’s retail expansion continues in the Americas with three new stores in the Bahamas offering the full range of footwear and accessories.

In July this year, a 72sq m stand-alone boutique is scheduled to start trading in Bay Street, Nassau. In December 2004, a 25sq m corner opened in Solomon’s Mines at the Marathon Mall, and a 45sq m shop-in-shop is also slated with the same firm for Caves Village this year. Further expansion is planned across the Americas.

Bally broke even in 2004 for the first time since the purchase of the company and relaunch by Texas Pacific Group in 1999. Sales reached €300 million last year.
