POLAND. Retailer Baltona Duty Free’s shopping area at Wroclaw Airport has been named as the best new duty free zone in Central and Eastern Europe.
The accolade was presented during the CEESAR Awards 2018, with a judging panel comprising industry, business and media specialists from 16 countries.
Baltona President of the Management Board Piotr Kazimierski collected the award during a ceremony held in Poznan (pictured below).
Kazimierski said the award confirmed the quality of Baltona’s new stores, which he said were the result of cooperation with the airport, design offices and an international team of specialists. “The airport in Wroclaw gave us a lot of freedom at the design stage and was open to our innovative ideas,” he commented.
Wroclaw Airport President Dariusz Kuś said of the award: “Travellers expect and appreciate the high quality of service in our airport. Attractive stores are one of the key elements; we are pleased that in co-operation with Baltona we can offer our passengers an extremely rich and attractive offer in a format that is very strongly associated with Wroclaw and Lower Silesia, which has now been appreciated by the competition jury.”
