BPI will launch the signature scent of Cuban-born American Narciso Rodriguez |
FRANCE. Beauté Prestige International (BPI) has engaged in the commitment of its expertise and knowhow to uncover the talent of a third designer – Narciso Rodriguez.
An American of Cuban descent, Narciso Rodriguez graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York in 1982.
He worked initially for many famous fashion designers such as Anne Klein (where he worked with Donna Karan), Calvin Klein and Cerruti. From 1997 to 2001 he was artistic director for Loewe fashion.
In 1997, the Narciso Rodriguez label was launched. He established his trademark clean, sensual style that is modern yet timeless, in fashion and shoes.
In 2002 and 2003, he was named best women’s fashion designer of the year by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America).
After the great success encountered in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Spain, where it was launched in 2003, followed in early 2004 by Russia and Italy, BPI will launch Narciso Rodriguez for her in Travel Retail in September 2004.
The partnership will be played with a limited number of operators, in a very select number of points of sale, in order to optimize the building of this successful brand.
In particular, a special partnership between World Duty Free/BPI & Narciso Rodiiguez starts this autumn to build up the first flagship stores. This will be seen in the following key locations:
