UK. Independent Surrey-based brewer Big Smoke Brew Co and Airport Retail Enterprises (ARE) are to launch two new craft beer and food destinations at Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 and 5 in June.
The Oceanic in T3 and The Globe in T5 will serve Big Smoke’s core range of beers and gins, accompanied by seasonal food.

The names of the two new pubs are linked to the host airport. The Oceanic references the original name of T3 which opened as the Oceanic Terminal in 1961. The Globe is an acknowledgement of the breadth of international destinations to which Heathrow’s Terminal 5 connects.
The pubs’ curated menus are designed for all-day-dining. Pub classics, sharing dishes and all-day breakfasts feature. Highlights include DIY tacos, grilled meat sharers and homemade burgers.
Big Smoke has designed an exclusive beer for Heathrow. Flight Mode is a crisp and refreshing 4% pilsner which will be available at both new pubs, alongside a wide range of drinks designed to complement the food.

Other beverages include locally-produced beers, cider and gins. These include eight keg options, two cask ales, six cans in the fridge and three house gins, as well as premium beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks.
Both pubs feature digital order and pay at table solutions. In addition, each will house digital kiosks that enable customers to purchase food on-the-go from a separate takeaway menu.
The Oceanic will feature a digital Shuffleboard table, enabling customers to play an interactive game while drinking and dining.
Rich Craig, who launched Big Smoke Brew Co with his business partner James Morgan in 2014, said: “We are thrilled to be opening two new Big Smoke pubs at Heathrow, bringing our signature home-cooked food and craft beers to more global travellers.

“The Big Smoke brewery is only eight miles from the airport so we are offering a truly local experience. We are in safe hands with the team at ARE, who are as dedicated to delivering fantastic service and a welcoming atmosphere as we are.”
Heathrow Retail and Property Director Fraser Brown said: “As the UK’s gateway to the world, we are delighted that local Surrey-based brand Big Smoke will be expanding its offering into Terminals 3 and 5.
“Heathrow strives to provide our passengers with the best airport service in the world and these two new openings will serve as great additions for the summer, as travellers and their loved ones will get the opportunity to enjoy an authentic local experience across the terminals.”
ARE Director John Butts said: “ARE is delighted to be increasing our presence at Heathrow Airport in partnership with the team at Big Smoke with these two fantastic new pub sites. These new openings follow on from the success of the Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen in Terminal 2 which has been very popular with Heathrow’s passengers since it opened last May.”
