INTERNATIONAL. Italian winemaker and distiller Bottega has partnered exclusively with Avolta to launch Bottega Gold Extra Brut.
The sparkling wine is the latest addition to the Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection, a project created by Bottega President Sandro Bottega to enhance the entire Prosecco category.

As reported, the collection’s first release, Bottega Gold Cru, was highlighted at the recent TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.
Bottega Gold Extra Brut, a Vintage 2022 Prosecco and the premium version of the popular Bottega Gold, is available now in Avolta stores worldwide.
The gold bottle with its characteristic shape has an eye-catching mirror finish, which extends to the front label. According to Bottega, the expression’s quality and striking packaging “make this a prestigious gift in the style of the centuries-old Italian wine-making tradition and the best ‘Made in Italy’ design”.
Avolta said the Bottega Gold Extra Brut launch is in line with the travel retailer’s aim to seek exclusive products for its outlets.
Avolta Global Head of Liquor David de Miguel commented: “The customer is at the heart of everything we do, and an intrinsic element of our strategy is to surprise and delight our customers and make travellers happier.
“One of the ways we do this is by offering products which are unique or exclusive. Bottega Gold Extra Brut takes the Prosecco experience to the next level and we are confident that this exclusive product will be well received by the many customers visiting our stores worldwide.”
Bottega said its Bottega Gold Extra Brut is characterised by features that elevate the quality of the Prosecco to “the most exceptional standards”. These include:
- Selection of a single vineyard in the prime-quality area of the UNESCO Heritage Prosecco Hills
- Glera grapes cultivated according to Bottega’s sustainability philosophy and harvested only by hand at the moment of their perfect ripening
- Pre-fermentative cryomaceration, to fully preserve the organoleptic charge of the grapes
- Maturation in new ‘horizontal’ autoclaves, the result of the most advanced technological research applied to quality oenology
- Long fermentation (over six months, while Prosecco normally takes around one month) to obtain a wine with an exceptional organoleptic profile.
“In short, [Bottega Gold Extra Brut] is a top-quality Prosecco in the oenological world that lacks nothing when compared to other world-renowned varieties of sparkling wines,” Bottega stated.
Bottega Gold Extra Brut has a straw-yellow colour with golden reflections and a fine perlage. On the nose, notes of golden apple, ripe pear, white flowers, wisteria and acacia introduce hints of bread crust. On the palate it is dry and persistent with a good savouriness reflected in the minerality.
The wine pairs well with raw fish and oysters, mushroom risotto, tagliatelle with sea bass ragout or courgettes and prawns and baked sea bass on pea purée. ✈️
