Changi Airport and Jewel ring in Lunar New Year with festive shopping and experiences

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport and Jewel Changi Airport are ushering in the Lunar New Year with festive offerings and attractions across retail and dining locations.

Among the highlights are cherry-blossom-inspired floral displays at Jewel’s Forest Valley, on display until 3 March, featuring advanced animatronic horses moving in harmony with larger-than-life kinetic floral elements to celebrate the animal year.

Animatronic displays bring Lunar New Year festivities to life at Jewel

Travellers are invited to The Petal Garden at the Jewel Canopy Park (Level 5), which has been transformed into a colourful display of cherry blossoms and seasonal flowers.

Beyond the visual attractions, guests can redeem S$88 (US$69) off or 8% savings on Starlux Airlines flights to Taiwan via QR codes on greeting cards found among kumquat plants at Level 2 main entrance and Level 3 link bridges at Jewel.

From 5 February to 2 March, Changi Airport will feature horse sculptures and horticultural displays at ten locations across terminals 1, 2 and 3, alongside prosperity symbols including gold ingots and Chinese coins.

A standout feature is the Celosia argentea cultivar, commonly known as Plume Celosia, with dense, flame-shaped flowers in red and yellow that symbolise prosperity and new beginnings.

Festive passenger journey

Changi Airport will extend Changi Lounge operations to 24 hours daily from 17 February to 4 March in response to higher flight volumes during the Lunar New Year period, with enhanced dining options available.

Jewel’s Rain Vortex will extend its operating hours until 12am from 1 February to 3 March, while the Light & Music Showcase will run nightly at 8pm and 9pm, with a 10pm show on Fridays, Sundays and on the eve of and during public holidays.

Running 5-12 February, Jewel’s Cloud9 Piazza (Level 5) will host a festive bazaar showcasing local businesses and Lunar New Year-themed crafts, decorative items and plants.

Over the weekend, participants can join batik printing, floral arrangement and pressed flower art workshops from S$10 (US$8) each. Online registration is open, with walk-ins accepted subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visitors who make purchases at Changi Airport Group’s ‘HUATticulture’ plant booth on 7-8 February (1pm-3pm) can join a guided session with miniature therapy horses, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

To enhance the festivities, lion dance and LED dragon dance performances will take place at Jewel on 16-18 February. Lion dances are scheduled for 5:38pm on Lunar New Year’s Eve (16 February) and 12:38pm on the first two days of the New Year (17-18 February). LED dragon dances run at 7:38pm on all three days.

Until 3 March, travellers who spend a minimum of S$100 (US$78.90) in a single receipt at participating F&B outlets in Changi Airport terminals 1 to 4 can receive S$10 in Changi Shop & Dine e-Vouchers when paying with Mastercard (including via Changi Pay).

Changi Airport is highlighting its wide selection of dining options, including Terrace Chinese Kitchen (T1), Peach Garden, A-Roy Thai (T2), Swensen’s, Paradise Dynasty and Central Thai (T3), as well as Ya Kun Kaya Toast, Chengdu Bowl, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart (T3) and Burger King (T1, 2 and 4).

At Jewel, Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck and Jumbo Seafood serve reunion set menus and takeaway pen cai and yu sheng, while Gwangjang GAON features a curated Lunar New Year Korean offer.

Recently opened restaurants at Jewel include Elfuego by Collin’s, Tutto by Da Paolo and Singapore’s first Lotteria, all opearing during the Lunar New Year period

Seasonal shopping deals and offers

Retail partners at Changi Airport, Jewel and the airport’s ecommerce platform iShopChangi are offering a wide range of limited-edition deals and discounts for the festive period.

iShopChangi has teamed up with Singaporean fashion influencer Andrea Chong and her label Good Addition to launch Prosperity Tiles, a limited-edition mahjong set featuring Lunar New Year 2026 brocade motifs and travel-inspired elements. It is available from 23 January to 28 February for S$228 (US$180) with a minimum spend of S$120 (US$95) on the online store, while stocks last.

Disney Cruise Line Red Packets with an iShopChangi-exclusive design are also offered for online purchases of S$200 (US$158) or more.

At Changi Airport terminals, shoppers can redeem one complimentary set of Disney Cruise Line red packets for a minimum spend of S$80/US$63 (S$100/US$79 at supermarkets). Each set includes six designs featuring Captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, Sailor Donald and friends. The offer is valid until 3 March, while stocks last.

Changi Rewards members can enjoy the last two weekends of the ‘2XGST Savings’ promotion to get double savings at participating airport retail outlets, with 9% GST-absorbed prices plus -9% off a minimum nett spend of S$30 (US$24). A S$60 (US$47) spend via Mastercard with Changi Pay earns a S$9 (US$7.10) return e-voucher.

Shoppers can redeem two hours of free parking when they spend at least S$35 (US$28) and pay with Mastercard (including via Changi Pay) at participating retail outlets in Changi Airport’s public areas until 12 March.

Major travel retailers are also taking part in shopping festivities until 8 March at the Changi Spring Shopping Festival, with S$50 (US$39) in return vouchers at The Shilla Duty Free, up to $888 (US$700) worth of prizes in sure-win games at Lotte Duty Free, plus an instant S$20 (US$15.78) off with a S$180 (US$142) spend at Changi’s participating retailers in the transit areas.

Alipay users can access exchange rate promotions and additional discounts with minimum purchases.

Travellers in the departure transit areas of terminals 1-4 can receive red packets with small surprises from the God of Fortune between 11 and 24 February.

From 29 January to 3 March, a single-receipt spend of S$98 (US$77) qualifies visitors for a spin at Jewel’s ‘sure-win’ gachapon.

Prizes include S$10 (US$8) vouchers from brands such as Charles & Keith, Toys R Us and Zara, as well as retail, attraction and breakfast vouchers. Additional spins and bonus Jewel Gift Vouchers are available for higher spending and Mastercard payments.

From 13 to 28 February, Jewel Canopy Park will offer -18% off the Lunar New Year Festive Bundle, including experiences at the Mastercard Canopy Bridge and Mirror Maze.

Changi Experience Studio guests can receive S$8 (US$6.30) off their second ticket from 14 February to 1 March. Visitors can also take part in a Photo Bingo challenge to redeem a sure-win scratch card with prizes up to S$39.90 (US$31.50).
