China’s Ministry of Commerce extends anti-dumping investigation into European Union brandies

CHINA. The Ministry of Commerce has extended its investigation into alleged dumping of European Union brandies in China’s domestic market until 5 April.

As reported, the Ministry slapped heavy ‘temporary anti-dumping’ measures on imported European brandies from 11 October.

The Ministry of Commerce said the complexity of the case prompted the continued investigation. Click on images to read the announcement in Chinese and English.

The tariffs, provisional in nature and ranging from 30.6% to 39.0%, are widely seen as a response to the majority of European Union (EU) countries approving heavy duties on Chinese-made electric vehicles, due to take effect at the end of October.

Announcing the extension to the investigation yesterday, the Ministry of Commerce attributed the move to the complexity of the case. ✈
